Factor Aurelio Automobile bercita-cita menjadi produsen "supercar" pertama dari Filipina.(Worldcarfans)

Manila, KompasOtomotif - Selama ini negara-negara di ASEAN lebih dikenal sebagai pelanggan “supercar”, tapi kisah lain datang dari Filipina.

Mei lalu, perusahaan lokal bikinan dua insinyur muda setempat, Factor Aurelio Automobile (FAA), telah memajang konsep “supercar” pertama mereka yang bernama Aurelio di pameran otomotif terbesar dalam negeri, Trans Sport Show 2014. Kini, versi produksi telah rampung dan diklaim menjadi “supercar” pertama berkebangsaan Filipina, atau bisa jadi perdana asal ASEAN.

FAA didirikan oleh mahasiswa teknik 21 tahun, Kevin Factor dan pemilik manufaktur mobil custom Pacita Fibertech, Brendan Aurelio. Mobil dengan bodi kupe 2-pintu ciptaan mereka dipersenjatai dua pilihan jantung pacu, pertama versi turbocharger yang mengadopsi 4G63T, 2.0L milik Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution dan mesin “bandel” Honda, B16A, DOHC, VTEC non-turbo.

Desain
Mengadopsi bahasa yang mirip “supercar” asal Eropa. Faktor aerodinamis membuat penampilan bersudut dan ceper untuk mengejar pusat gravitasi lebih rendah. Dijelaskan, keuntungan terbesar didapat dari sasis ringan “handmade”.

Banyak komponen menggunakan material fiberglass daur ulang plastik dan serat karbon. Di bagian depan sekilas mirip Mitsubishi Galant VR-4, memiliki pintu gunting, dan setiap ruang fender muat pelek 18 inci.

Harga
“Kami hanya berencana membuat 10 unit, dengan begitu nilai mobil ini bisa terjaga. Bila kami memproduksi lebih banyak, mobil akan kehilangan nilai karena tidak unik lagi,” kata Factor kepada Top Gear Filipina di pameran. FAA memprediksi banderol Aurelio 1,6 juta peso atau sekitar Rp 428 juta.

Hingga kini belum ada pernyataan resmi data performa. Tapi menurut banyak kalangan, untuk level  “supercar”, pilihan mesin memang terasa tidak terlalu “wah”. Namun bila disimak dari spesifikasi, Aurelio mirip dengan mobil sport gesit asal Inggris, Lotus Exige, yang mengandalkan kombinasi optimal bodi ringan dengan mesin kecil.
